Subject: Operation Braveheart, first batch of children

Hello Peg, Greg and Ralph,

Just sharing some good news with you. Operation Braveheart has started the repair of children's heart defects. A few days ago, seven (7) children underwent transcatheter repair. The attached collage will tell you the children's ages, hometown and diagnosis. Six of the children had PDA, one had a VSD. This collage and future pictures of children will be part of our on-line report.

Our Grant will take care of approximately 32 children. I wish we could do more.

I will show this picture to the Club this Tuesday.

UPDATE 10/2/17

Hello Ralph, Greg, Peg, Warren

Here is another collage with pictures of the second batch of 8 children our Global grant has repaired (for a total of 15 so far). The last two children were just operated on yesterday. Two of the children had ASD (Atrial septal defect), more complicated than the PDA.

I am inquiring from District if we can apply for another global grant so we can help more children. (Don't worry Peg, I will look for the funds).

I will NOT be in our meeting this Tuesday. Peg, please announce the good news to club. We are in Palm Coast FL checking out hurricane damage to our house.

UPDATE 10/30/17

Our third batch of children operated on by our volunteer, Dr. Jonas. Our Global grant has now helped a total of 23 children. In a few days, we will add another 5 or so to this list. Our goal based on our grant application is 32 children.

Kathleen, could you please inquire from TRF if we can apply for another Operation Braveheart grant? Our volunteer physician tells me that he is willing to continue to provide his service and I would like to take advantage of this.

Thanks - Jess
