In January, Towson University alumni Matthew Purkins assumed the role of Hanover Borough's first Director of Parks and Recreation. A former president of the Maryland Recreation and Parks Association and manager of the Carroll County Recreation and Parks Department Sports Complex, Matt is a Baltimore native and grew up in New Windsor, Maryland. He most recently served in Dauphin County as fiscal manager of parks and recreation and previously as community supervisor for Baltimore's Recreation and Parks Department. |

Dan Puz is the Campus Pastor at LCBC Hanover but is originally from Pittsburgh, PA. He graduated from Lancaster Bible College and has been a part of LCBC since 2007. Dan and his wife, Molly, have been married for 12 years and currently live in South Hanover with their 4 children. Dan loves the outdoors, coaching football at South Western High School, and playing LEGO with his kids. He is very excited to be a part of the Hanover community and wants to help make Hanover a better place for everyone regardless of background or belief. |

Hope Squad - Older Adult Peer-to-Peer Suicide Prevention

Cindy Richard, Founder and Director of Suicide Prevention of York and a retired social worker. She holds a BSW degree and a Masters in Community Counseling. She holds many suicide prevention certifications, including certified Online counselor, Suicide Intervention and Assessment Specialist, and Group, Individual, and Peer Support Crisis Interventionist. Cindy is a QPR Gatekeeper instructor and QPR Pathfinder. Currently, she is teaching a youth suicide prevention online class that she designed for McDaniel College to provide training for Maryland school counselors as part of their certification requirements. She facilitates 4 suicide survivor support groups and oversees 4 Hope Squads in York County. Cindy has taught classes at York College of PA and has spoken to all age audiences on suicide prevention locally, statewide, and nationally. |

United Way of York County

Brian Grimm became the President of the United Way of York County in July 2023, bringing with him a wealth of experience garnered over two decades in the non-profit sector. He graduated from Kutztown University with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice/Police Science and earned a Master of Science in Information Science from Clarion University. Brian is a graduate of Leadership York's Leadership Training Program, the Mentorship York Program, and Non-Profit Leadership Academy. He is also a member of The Rotary Club of York and The Lion's Club International. Prior to his current position, Brian served as the CEO of York Day Early Learning for six years. During his tenure, he successfully navigated the organization through strategic restructuring, expansion initiatives, and diversified funding streams. Brian is driven by a passion for making a meaningful impact, evident in his dedication to both the non-profit landscape and the overall well-being of the community in York County. Beyond his professional roles, Brian is most importantly a parent to three children. Together with his wife, Ashly, he lives in York with their children and two dogs, Odie and Loki. |
