Hi Hanover Rotarian, the Board approved the service project providing support for parking cars during the Hanover Little Theater’s 2022 Season.  The season began Sept. 9, 2022 and runs through June 18, 2023.  This project has a very limited time commitment that is spread over 9 months.

We will provide two volunteers as Parking Attendants for each show.  You can reach me with any questions. Shanna Hollich, 717-778-8373.  The theater will be offering the Hanover Club $400.00 ($100.00 for each show) for supporting the theater with this project.

  • LIMITED TIME COMMITMENT:  Thurs., Fri., & Sat performances Parking Attendants would be needed from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Sunday shows parkers would be needed 1-2 p.m.
  • Safety vests will be provided.  NOTE: All volunteers must be 18 years of age and older as required by the Theater and their insurance carrier.
  • BONUS: Any Rotarian Parking Attendant is welcome to stay to see the show at no charge the night they volunteer.  You may have to sit in a folding chair in the back of the theatre if the Theater sells out the show.

Roots for Boots Monthly Service
Sep 13, 2022 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Hello Hanover Rotarian, you and I are requested to serve in the support of our Veterans following our weekly meeting on the Second Tuesday of each month.  We are serving with the Roots for Boots organization distributing food and/or serving a wholesome lunch.

We are requested to serve between 1-3 PM on the second Tuesday of each month.  I will email a sign-up for the event dates.  You are encouraged to increase or decrease the number of volunteer hours on this day dependent on your schedule.  The number of public volunteers breathes and makes the success of the monthly support a challenge.

Some of this project's activity begins prior to our 12-noon Rotary meeting.  The location of this project is to the rear of The Markets of Hanover.

Thank you for serving. - Dale Brubaker - dale.brubaker@hickoryfalls.com

Questions about this monthly project can be made to one of our members and the Roots for Boots CEO, Christy Lucas - christylucas88@yahoo.com.

The Hoffman Homes for Youth (HHY) Board of Directors named Rebecca G. Van der Groef as the next CEO & President of Hoffman Homes, Inc. With over 23 years of service at HHY, Becky has held several positions including Mental Health Worker, Psychotherapist, Assistant Director of Residential Services, Director of Residential Services, Vice President of Clinical & Residential Programs, and most recently, Interim CEO. Over the past few years, Becky worked closely with the previous Hoffman Homes CEO. She also collaborated extensively with the leadership team to spearhead the research and development of several new HHY programs. She is a Licensed Social Worker in Pennsylvania and holds a Bachelor of Social Work from Shippensburg University as well as a Master of Social Work from Temple University. Her professionalism, experience as a leader, and time spent with HHY allow her a powerful understanding of the complexities the organization faces. Becky has held or currently holds positions within several regulatory and advocacy-based organizations, including Board Member for Rehabilitation and Community Providers Association (RCPA); Vice-Chair for Pennsylvania Council of Children, Youth, and Families (PCCYFS); Member of the Office of Mental Health & Substance Abuse Services (OMHSAS) Planning Committee; Participant on the Shippensburg Advisory Board; Participant on the central region Workforce Development Taskforce. She has also worked alongside other providers and the Office of Children, Youth, and Families to develop policy clarification regarding mandated reporting of suspected child abuse.
