Joint Service Project Between Hanover Rotary and Delone Catholic Interact Club on Saturday April 18 at Conewago Township Park.

The weather cooperated nicely to enable the students from Delone Catholic Interact to combine with the Hanover Rotary CLub and Conewago Twp maintenance staff to plant trees at the newly-purchased park (former airport property).  Thirty to thirty-five students, their Club sponsor, several township personnel and a sprinkling of Rotarians planted over 125 trees to beautify the park and to help prevent erosion into Plum Creek.  President Doug Barmoy was the initial driving force behind this partnership effort and the Delone Interact students took over and ran with the project.  Jess Socrates, Bob Miller, Paul Stevenson, Walt Maust, Darryl Zoller and Warren Risk were the Rotarians who turned out to support the students.  The students were so efficient in tree-planting that they had enough time and energy left over to pull vines off of a wire fence enclosure to further assist the township staff.

We appreciate everyone's cooperation with this event especially the students who performed the "lion's share" of the, or should we say "Squire's share" of the physical labor.  We all pledged to continue this cooperative effort in the coming years.   Enjoy more photos of the event in the "Albums" section of this webpage.
