"WE APPRECIATE YOUR SERVICE"
The Rotary Club of York, PA is proud to be the only Rotary Club designated as a "hub" for the National Honor Flight. NHF was founded to give veterans of World War II and the Korean Conflict an opportunity to make the pilgrimage to Washington, D.C. to visit their memorials and witness the Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery. It is a special day which generally includes a motorcycle honor guard and a greeting with our national representatives.
The next “flight” is scheduled to leave by bus from York PA the third week in October.
Rotary Club of York is asking us to help identify qualified veterans. The veteran’s name, address or email address, and phone number should be sent to Rotarian Al Sykes at awsykes@gmail.com. Al’s phone is 717-880-1261.
York Rotary is also looking for chaperones to spend the day with one of our veterans. The cost for the chaperone is $100.00 and includes a box lunch. It is an unforgettable day for the veteran and for the chaperone.
